Born and bred in the farming town Grabouw, with a passion for inspiring people with his vocal tone and charisma. Singing since the age of 10, Cobi has built 30 years of experience as a singer-songwriter and performer, with a theatric creative streak that reflects in his performances.

He is the only singer within the Overberg to hold finalist status within both the Afrikaans and English version of the South African IDOLS brand in 2005 & 2007, as well as the only representee of the Overberg, ever, to be part of the South African POPSTARS brand in 2010, reaching the Top 10.

Cobi has toured locally as a soloist, performing on various stages, corporate events, festivals, and arenas. He is one of the original members of the trio tribute group, MAGNIFICO, who graced the Canary Islands, Spain, and the Norwegian Cruise liner, Silja Symphony, performing IL Divo, Frank Sinatra, Boy Bands, and Queen in 2015 & 2016 to audiences from all over the world. He also featured as lead singer in the local Dance band, the ELGINAIRS periodically since 2005.

Taking inspiration from the likes of George Michael, Adam Lambert, Celine Dion and Josh Groban, it reflects in his baritenor vocal range that passionately projects his storytelling interpretations. He writes of passion, positivity and being your authentic self in the Adult Contemporary, R&B and Pop genre.

He currently works on his next studio project, enjoying the recording process as much as his theatrical live performances. He wishes to use both platforms to share his life story of resilience "from fledge to flight" with his fandom - "The Wyng Force" around the world.
